AmCham South China Statement on $200bn in US Tariffs on China

 华南美国商会关于价值2000亿美元关税的声明

GUANGZHOU, CHINA – September 18, 2018 – The American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) today issued the following statement regarding the new round of tariffs imposed by the Trump administration:

（2018年9月18日，中国·广州）华南美国商会（美商会）今日就特朗普政府对中国商品征收新一轮关税发表如下声明：

The strength of the U.S. and Chinese economies is inextricably linked to trade and foreign investment, and both countries stand to gain significantly from cooperation. While the previous rounds of tariffs have had a negative impact on the business community in China, the additional $200 billion tariffs levied by the U.S. government on more than 5,000 items will further intensify the trade friction between the two countries and bring far-reaching consequences to American consumers, U.S. companies in China, and Chinese companies with operation in the U.S.

美中两国的经济优势与其紧密的贸易往来及对外投资密不可分，而两国均从相互合作中获益匪浅。前几轮关税对在华商界造成的负面影响尚未消除，美国政府对价值2000亿美元、涉及5000类中国进口产品征收新一轮的关税不仅会加大两国的贸易摩擦，而且还将对美国消费者、在华美资企业及在美中资企业带来长远的影响。

AmCham South China urges Washington and Beijing to deal with trade issues through continuous dialogue and negotiation, and encourages both sides to return to the negotiation table and seek alternative mutually beneficial solutions.

美商会敦促美中两国政府就贸易问题展开持续性对话及磋商，鼓励双方重回谈判桌，并寻求其他互惠互利的解决途径。
